As Snowmass Village gears up for the summer season, residents and visitors can look forward to enhanced transportation services and updated safety measures aimed at improving the community experience.
Expanded Shuttle Services
Beginning June 1 and running through September 20, the Snowmass Village Shuttle will offer expanded daily summer service from 6:45 a.m. to midnight. This extension provides greater transportation access, facilitating easier movement around the village for both residents and tourists.
New Speed Limit Near Roundabout Construction
In response to ongoing construction at the intersection of Brush Creek Road and Owl Creek Road, a new 25 mph speed limit has been implemented in the surrounding area. This adjustment aims to ensure the safety of motorists and construction workers alike. Drivers are encouraged to adhere to the new speed limit and remain vigilant while navigating the construction zone.
Seasonal Trail Closures for Wildlife Protection
As part of the town’s annual wildlife protection program, several public trails, including Anaerobic Nightmare, Sequel, and Tom Blake, will experience temporary closures during the last week of April. Additional trails will close and reopen throughout May. These measures are strictly enforced to safeguard sensitive habitats and local wildlife populations. Residents and visitors are reminded to respect these closures to help preserve the natural environment that makes Snowmass Village unique.
Community Engagement Opportunities
The town is actively seeking full-time residents to join the new Thrive Advisory Committee. This volunteer group will help shape recommendations addressing key community issues such as housing affordability, child-care access, and the cost of living. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply online by March 27 to contribute to the town’s efforts in building a sustainable and fulfilling community.
These initiatives reflect Snowmass Village’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for its residents and visitors, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
